Bulls Say
Hexagon’s margins lead peers, with further improvements expected.
The mix shift to a higher proportion of software revenue has strengthened the company’s moat and reduced cyclicality.
Many of Hexagon’s customers' industries are at low levels of digitization, which should lead to a long runway of growth opportunities for the company.
Bears Say
Overall, while historical acquisitions have been strategically sound, ROICs indicate price discipline has room for improvement.
Hardware, which is difficult to build a moat around, remains a large component of Hexagon’s revenue.
Reporting disclosure has been below investor expectations in the past, which reduces investor confidence and ultimately may hit the valuation.
