Bulls Say
PAH will resume dividend growth once currency headwinds subside.
Inflation remains relatively high, lifting the underlying value of the regulated asset leading to higher allowed returns.
Acquisition opportunities have brightened and the group can resume adding assets to boost growth.
Bears Say
Geopolitical uncertainties may lead to increased scrutiny of its asset acquisition and sales by the Chinese government and other countries, making it difficult to complete some deals.
High exposure to overseas assets brings foreign exchange risk, while acquisition risk is meaningful, given that competition for utility assets is high.
The majority of PAH's investment are regulated utility assets with limited organic growth. A lack of dividend growth means PAH is less attractive to investors.
