Bulls Say

  • The main franchises—Gundam, Dragon Ball, One Piece—continue to record double-digit sales growth due to a surge in popularity.

  • The company’s noncore franchises such as The Idolmaster, Tekken, and so on, increase in popularity and become major revenue contributors.

  • Global marketing initiatives are successful in driving exports as well as inbound demand for merchandise.

Bears Say

  • The popularity of main franchises—Gundam, Dragon Ball, One Piece—deteriorate rapidly, and sales begin to shrink.

  • The competition for securing talent for game and animation production intensifies unexpectedly and leads to heavier cost pressures.

  • Investments in new game franchises are unsuccessful and result in impairment losses.
