Bulls Say
China’s outbound travel recovers at a strong pace keeping load factors and yields high on ANA’s international flights, boosting profit.
Global manufacturing activity rebounds sooner than expected leading to a pickup in demand for airfreight and lifting cargo yields.
Inbound tourism into Japan supports higher international passenger yields and raises passenger load factors for ANA’s domestic routes.
Bears Say
Expect a collapse in yields as competition intensifies with more airlines seeing capacity return to prepandemic levels.
ANA has no advantages in the low-cost carrier business and will find it hard for its new Air Japan airline to compete against Scoot, AirAsia, and Jetstar for Southeast Asian passengers.
Selling aircraft during the pandemic has left ANA with a need to lease aircraft at high rates.
